An intervention is an excellent tool to force an addict into treatment. There are many stages to this process. The first is determining if someone is in the throes of addiction. Are they having consequences? Are the consequences being ignored or rationalized? Are they impacting their loved ones, causing harm in their families?
The addict must have insurance. It is a sign of the times that insurance is required. Treatment centers are a business, not a social service. Finding a treatment facility which will takes them immediately after the intervention is extremely important.
Having a seasoned interventionist is a key to the success of your intervention. There are many stages to an intervention and you do not want to miss any of them or the intervention will likely not be a success and may rule out another chance in the future.
